So this was my first REAL piece of furniture that I made. I have made and built others before, I will share them with you later, but this was the one that I consider to be my first. I followed designs, found on www.Ana-White.com , for the basic table frame. I had to modify it slightly to better fit our space. The table top Was my own design and felt it was appropriate for our style. Hope you all enjoy! Check out the original plans here: http://ana-white.com/content/tryde-coffee-table
Start with wood and coffeeThen build something in no particular order
Somehow the basic frame was created
Created table top using pockethole screws, glue and clamps
Put them both together
All these pics are of the fininishing process. Couple coats of oak stain, lightly sanded after and a top coat of semi-gloss lacquer (which smells really bad)
And here it is in it's new home. Forgot to mention all the cups of coffee as well that went into this project
great job
ReplyDeleteI really like the cut edge. Nice idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much
ReplyDeleteI have found that coffee and building are inseparable--I even take mine to get the lumber! Great project, it turned out beautifully. Love your customization with the cut edge too.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Coffee is a must in almost all that I do. And thank you for the kind words. It means a lot
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteHow did you attach the supports to the frame and how did you attach the top to the frame ?
Thank you
If you are talking about the 2*2 supports, I attached them to the frame using pocket holes and attached to the top using counter sunk from the bottom. I also used a few pocketholes on the side supports going it the top, and of course some gorilla glue. Did you see the flip top version I made with storage? Thanks for stopping by
